Pacify
03:20
|

The hills have finally turned to red
Clearin' a path that's in your head
Never sure where it's gonna lead
But know it's not me you need to appease
Pacify
Pacify
Broken compositions and poor transitions
Construe ambiguous definitions
Never sure where it's gonna lead
But know it's not me you need to appease
Pacify
Pacify
Toxic blood rests under your skin
But it doesn't say a thing about where ya been
Never sure where it's gonna lead
But know it's not me you need to appease
Pacify

Singin' in Her Sleep
03:46
|
|||
Singin', singin' in her sleep
Yeah she's singin', singin' in her sleep
But now she's got in way too deep
Yes she's got in way too deep
Cause everybody knows
That she sings
In her sleep
Pillow, what do ya say?
Let's sneak on out of here
I'm so tired, I could stay
But I'd rather see my dear
Singin', singin' in her sleep
Yeah she's singin', singin' in her sleep
But now she's got in way too deep
Yes she's got in way too deep
Cause everybody knows
That she sings
In her sleep
Ooooo
Seein' you singing, in your sleep
Is somethin' I'm going to keep
For myself, to stash away
Before my memory decays
Singin', singin' in her sleep
Yeah she's singin', singin' in her sleep
But now she's got in way too deep
Yes she's got in way too deep
Cause everybody knows
That she sings
In her sleep
Ooooo
Let's run away to your dreams
I will meet you by the stream
Brush your hair, from your face
Don't let your words be a waste
Singin', singin' in her sleep
Yeah she's singin', singin' in her sleep
But now she's got in way too deep
Yes she's got in way too deep
Cause everybody knows
That she sings
In her sleep
Ooooo

I went down to the Ohio River
Where I found my poor mother layin'
She looked up at me and said
Won't you please leave me here and let me rest?
You could see she was scared to meet her maker
And that walk was long down to the river bed
So why not meet the devil instead?
And just be done with the worry and the pain
Well I didn't believe, but she sure did
And no matter that she was ready to go
Whatever it'd take just to end this walk
She hushed my mouth and asked me not to talk
I went down to the Ohio River
Where I found my poor mother layin'
She looked up at me and said
Won't you please leave me here and let me rest?
She took my hand and asked me to go
Hated me to see her at her low
Instead I walked her down to the river
I held her hand, helped her in, and let her go
I went down to the Ohio River
Where I found my poor mother layin'
She looked up at me and said
Won't you please leave me here and let me rest?

When I Get There
03:34
|
|||
Mossy trails
Beneath my feet
I'll find harbor
In this heath
Not sure where I'm going
But I'll find you when I get there
Rotten apples
Line these aisles
The moisture is heavy
And rocks trip me up
No matter how far I walk
I can't shake your thoughts
The silence surrounds
Yet I all I hear are screams
Not sure where I'm going
But I'll find you when I get there
I tried to find Kentucky
But all that I found
Were some empty bottles
And an old grizzly bear
He was a wanderer
Much like me
He told me to run home
There is nothing to find here
Not sure where I'm going
But I'll find you when I get there
